Pastors and preachers of the Xi’an Fengsheng Church, a Chinese home church, Lian Changnian, Lian Xuliang, and Fu Juan, have been subjected to coercive measures since August 17, 2022, on suspicion of “fraud,” exceeding ten months now.
The progress of the case is as follows:
From August 18, 2022, to February 15, 2023, they were under residential surveillance at a designated location.
During this period, they suffered beatings, insults, threats, denial of toilet access, hunger, and thirst as forms of abuse and torture for confessions.
From February 15, 2023, to March 22, 2023, they were under criminal detention.
On March 22, 2023, with the approval of the People’s Procuratorate of Baqiao District, they were formally arrested.
On May 10, 2023, with the approval of the Xi’an Municipal People’s Procuratorate, the first extension of detention was for one month until June 20, 2023.
The second extension of detention is for two months until August 20, 2023.
Currently, the case is still with the public security authorities and has not reached the procuratorate!
