On the evening of June 28, 2023, some brothers and sisters from Chengdu’s Early Rain Covenant Church gathered for a love feast at a brother’s home in Longquanyi District. Officials from the Longquanyi District Bureau of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, the Public Security Sub-bureau, and the Damaian Police Station, totaling about a dozen people, intervened. Now, ten brothers and sisters have been asked to go to the police station for identity verification.

As of 00:30 on June 29, 2023, the nine brothers and sisters who were taken to the Damaian Police Station in Longquanyi District on the evening of the 28th have been released and returned home. Only Pastor Wu Wuqing has not yet been released.
