Brother Shen Bing and his wife, Sister Li Xiaofeng, leaders of the Dayi Cell Group of the Early Rain Covenant Church, encountered a search by several Chengdu Dayi police officers at their home at around eleven o’clock this morning. They were taken away by two cars separately, and the specific details are still being understood. Brothers and sisters, please pray for them.
Brother Shen Bing and his wife, Sister Li Xiaofeng, both retirees, have been subjected to police stability maintenance for their enthusiastic service to the church. Sister Li Xiaofeng was criminally detained for six months during the December 9, 2018, church incident and was later sent to another place for a year of bail pending trial. Brother Shen Bing, who was not a believer at that time, was unreasonably administratively detained for five days during the church incident. He later committed to the faith and was criminally detained for a month for supporting his wife and defending the faith, followed by six months of residential surveillance. In early 2021, after their return to Chengdu, Brother Shen Bing was baptized and returned to the Lord. They have been frequently driven away, yet in every instance of persecution, they have preached the gospel to the police and government officials with gentleness and calmness.
May the Lord remember their service to the family and continue to grant them gentleness and strength to witness the gospel, and may the couple be released soon.
